The Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation has completed another great year of fundraising for local charity partners, the theme for 2020 was Youth Engagement and in total an impressive £7,000 was raised.

Fundraising as a team during a pandemic and two national lockdowns was no easy task but our charity committee with the support of the Trustees rose to the challenge.  We would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in helping us to raise this impressive amount that will mean so much to our charity partners in supporting our local community.

A reminder of who our 2020 charity partners are and the incredible work they do.

Luton Wicketz/The Lord Taverners – Wicketz is a free community cricket programme targeting young people aged 8-16, living in deprived communities. Alongside cricket coaching and games, young people are offered specially designed workshops to boost wellbeing, social education, community awareness and develop new sporting and life skills.

Marsh Farm Futures – Marsh Farm Futures (MFF) supports local youth programmes which develop skills and confidence engaging young people and improving education standards with a wide range of learning opportunities and experiences. The local authority shut down their youth engagement one to one service two years ago. This service has been picked up by MFF which has shown success in helping young people go on to study and gain employment.

LTFCCT run several youth engagement programmes in the area.  They engage over 2,500 individuals each week visiting over 40 schools and delivering 70 free PE lessons.

Youthscape – Youthscape has strong connections with and works alongside, every secondary school in Luton. The work includes – programmes for young people facing exclusion from school for their behaviour, support for those with chronically low self-esteem and values education.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation Trustee Board and Committee are delighted to announce our support of local charity partners on the theme of Poverty this year. The projects run by our selected charity partner the Level Trust support children at an early age and helps to prevent poverty in their later lives.

The Level Trust believes poverty shouldn’t prevent children from loving to learn. The Level Trust vision is to help families overcome the costs of education so all children in Luton have the chance to love learning.

The Anniversary Foundation team believe that working with one partner this year will have the greatest impact in the local area and they are busy putting together a series of fund-raising events to help raise vital funds.
