Our 2025 recap

We’ve once again reached the end of a very busy year. And on behalf of our entire team we wanted to reflect on what Foxley Kingham has achieved, and flag a few useful things our clients should note for the new year. With the labour government now in its second year, 2025 has, unsurprisingly, been a year of change for the UK’s financial and regulatory landscape. Navigating our clients through these changes has been our key focus – thank you, as always, for your trust and partnership. It’s something we truly value.

Looking ahead: Making Tax Digital

Making Tax Digital (MTD) becomes mandatory for many, from 6 April 2026. If your combined self-employment and/or property income is over £50,000 in the 2024/25 tax year you will be required to join the new system, which includes:

  • Keeping digital records of income and expenses
  • Submitting quarterly updates to HMRC
  • Completing a final digital submission at year-end

HMRC will not be providing the software, instead asking those eligible to select a fully compatible solution. Come the new year, it will be time to get to grips with what you need to do to stay compliant. There will be a ‘soft-landing’ period in the first year, meaning no penalties for late quarterly submissions, but penalties will apply after that first year.

Foxley Kingham can support by offering a complete MTD service which includes access to our MTD compliant software, digital record keeping, management of your quarterly submissions, and year-end finalisation. Get in touch with the team if you’d like to know more.

Looking ahead: FK Now ACSP Registered

This year also saw major changes to Companies House, with Government introducing mandatory identity verification for directors, persons of significant control (PSCs), and those submitting filings on behalf of companies.

Foxley Kingham is now an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) which means we can complete identity verification and make filings directly on your behalf. If this is something we already do for your business, this registration ensures nothing will change.

Supporting our community

Through the Foxley Kingham Anniversary Foundation (FKAF), we were honoured to support three fantastic charities this year:

Stepping Stones – supporting vulnerable women in Bedfordshire

Azalea – working to combat sexual exploitation

Autism Bedfordshire – providing support, advocacy, and community for autistic individuals and their families

On top of keeping busy with work, our team have taken part in cake sales, golf days, quiz nights, and other fundraising events, all to raise vital monies and awareness for these organisations. The UK’s current economic landscape makes it a challenging time for charities who rely on donations and fundraising. As in previous years, we’ll be making a further donation to the foundation and its charities in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

Growing our team

It’s always refreshing to welcome new talent to the Foxley Kingham team. Yes, we’re biased, but our teams really are what sets us apart. A warm welcome to all who have joined us this year:

Dina Browne – HR & Training Administrator

Hope Campbell – Accounts Trainee

Tom Staples – Accounts Senior

Yash Thala – Accounts Trainee

Hafiza Uddin – Accounts Senior in our Doctors team

We were also delighted to welcome Nicole Doran back from maternity leave.

You all bring your own valuable skills and experience and we look forward to another year of your dedicated work.

A final word

2025 has been a year shaped by change, preparation, and progress both within the profession and our firm. As always, our focus remains on supporting our clients with clear advice and a personal approach.

If you have any questions about MTD, Companies House reforms, or anything else as we enter 2026, we’re here to help. Our FK office will be closed between 24 – 26 December. The office will be open between 29 and the 31 December with normal working hours and limited staffing. FK will open fully again on the 2 January 2026. The GKP office will be closing at 5pm on the 23 December and will return fully again on the 5 January 2026.

On behalf of everyone at Foxley Kingham and GKP, we wish you a peaceful festive period and a happy, healthy New Year.
