Frequently asked questions

Accountancy is reassuringly simple at Foxley Kingham. But business finance is a broad area and you may have a question not listed. Our friendly, approachable team are ready to take your call, and your question will not be anything they can’t answer.

What is a registered office for a business?

A registered office is the official address of an incorporated company, association or legal entity. If you use our service for being your registered office, we will receive your correspondence from Companies House and HMRC at our Foxley Kingham premises. Once your post arrives at our offices, the letters will be scanned, securely stored in your account and shredded. If action is required by you, your client manager will get in touch and explain the situation and everything you need to do.

    Can I sign up online?

You can register your interest online, via our contact form and we will get in touch with you to start the process, which is quick and painless. From the start, we will allocate a client manager to you who will be on hand at all times to answer your questions.

How easy is it to switch to Foxley Kingham?

Switching to Foxley Kingham from another accountant couldn’t be easier. Your dedicated client manager will take care of you and manage the switching process, including contacting your previous accountant and arranging for the transfer of your records, as well as notifying HMRC and Companies House of the change.

What kind of support will I get with my accounting?

We care as much about your business, it’s health and success, as we do our own business. You will have full, dedicated support from your qualified, experienced account manager who will work to maximise your income and growth opportunities. Your account manager will also keep you informed of all key dates in the financial year, helping you to avoid any penalties and stay on the right side of HMRC and Companies House. Our advice to you will always be bespoke, confidential and for the benefit of you and your business.

I hate bookkeeping! Can you help?

Luckily, we love it and are expert bookkeepers! We love bookkeeping so much we established a separate business for it, just to take care of yours and other business’s bookkeeping. Please contact our people at FoxKash Limited, who will be delighted to give you more information and a quote for bookkeeping services.

    What are my accounting responsibilities?

You must keep accurate and up-to-date accounting records for your business. Depending on the service you choose from us, we can do all this for you. But, if you have us to do your returns only – your VAT returns, corporation tax and yearend documents  you will need to keep your accounting records updated. To do this, we recommend that you reconcile your bank account once a month. You can verify your entries using our bank reconciliation system before every tax filing. Depending on your company activity, updating your accounts via cloud accounting software can take as little as a few minutes per week. Cloud Accounting Software allows you to invest in a low-cost technology platform that offers more robust solutions and the ability to stay on top of your financial affairs from anywhere and at any time.

    What is an authorised agent?

An authorised agent is someone who deals with Companies House and HMRC on your behalf. You can choose to set us up as your authorised agent and we will deal with MRC and Companies House matters on your behalf.

What level of accounting expertise do Foxley Kingham have?

Our accounting staff are chartered accountants and undertake a programme of ongoing training, so they are up to date with all accounting and tax legislation changes. Our accountants have a range of qualifications from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
